ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO AMEND AN EXISTING CONTRACT TO ADD ADDITIONAL LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE SERVICES TO EXISTING SERVICE AREAS
REQUEST: Authorization to amend an existing contract (#024-17/DZ), to add additional landscape maintenance services to areas located at Wellington Environmental Preserve/Section 24 and Peaceful Waters Sanctuary, with Mainguy Landscape Services, in the amount of $67,200 annually.

EXPLANATION: On November 10, 2020, Council approved a Contract with the Florida Department of Corrections for the provision of inmate labor for landscape services in the amount of $57,497 annually. On April 8, 2021, Wellington was notified that due to a severe staffing shortage, the Florida Department of Corrections was forced to temporarily suspend all Florida Department of Corrections supervised work squad activities.
Due to the suspension, staff recommends amending a contract with Mainguy Landscape Services to provide these additional landscape services at a cost of $67,200 annually, an annual increase of $9,703.
Pursuant to the Village's Purchasing Manual, any amendment to an existing contract in excess of twenty percent (20%) of the original contract amount requires prior Council approval.
Mainguy Landscape Services continues to provide superior landscape maintenance to all parks Village-wide. Staff recommends amending the existing contract to add additional services with Mainguy Landscape Services in the amount of $67,200 annually.
