ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO RENEW EXISTING CONTRACTS FOR UTILITY PROCESS CONTROL ANNUAL MAINTENANCE

REQUEST: Authorization to renew existing contract with CC Control Corp. for utility process control annual maintenance for approximately $104,000 annually.

EXPLANATION: The Utility Department utilizes a system of Process Logic Computers (PLCs) and a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system (SCADA) to operate, monitor, and manage raw water supply wells, the water treatment plant, remote water booster stations, sanitary lift stations, the water reclamation facility and the reuse distribution system. These systems monitor, gather and process real time data, and directly interact with devices such as sensors, values, pumps and motors. These systems are crucial to continuity of service, processing data for decision-making and communicating system issues to minimize downtime.

In addition, the Public Works Surface Water department utilizes this contract on an as needed basis for storm water supervisory control issues.

On June 9, 2020 Council exercised the first renewal option with CC Control Corp., a Palm Beach County local vendor for utility process control annual maintenance services effective through August 13, 2021. The contract has three (3) remaining renewal options available.
