A RESOLUTION OF WELLINGTON, FLORIDA’S COUNCIL TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF RECEIVING A GRANT UNDER PROVISIONS OF THE FLORIDA RECREATION DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (FRDAP) FOR THE MARGATE PARK PROJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 

RESOLUTION NO. R2021-56 (FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION GRANT FUNDS) 

 

A RESOLUTION OF WELLINGTON, FLORIDA’S COUNCIL AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2020-2021 CAPITAL FUND BUDGET FOR FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION GRANT FUNDS AWARDED FOR DEVELOPMENT OF THE MARGATE PARK PROJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 

 

REQUEST:                     Approval of Resolution No. R2021-55 authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP) grant and approval of Resolution No. R2021-56 for a budget amendment to allocate the $50,000 in grant monies to the Governmental Capital Fund.

EXPLANATION:                     The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) administers the FRDAP Program to provide grants for outdoor recreational activities. The Margate Park project includes funding for a new playground and landscaping.  The FDEP has awarded $50,000 in grant funding for the Margate Park project.  There is no required match from Wellington.

 

To accept the grant, the Village is required to sign and return two original copies of the Grant Agreement No. A2026.  Approval of Resolution No. R2021-55 authorizes the mayor to enter into an agreement with the FDEP for the FRDAP grant.  Approval of the associated Budget Amendment Resolution No. R2021-56 will allocate the grant monies for the Margate Park project.
