ITEM:    AUTHORIZATION TO CONTINUE UTILIZING A U.S. COMMUNITIES CONTRACT, AS A BASIS FOR PRICING, FOR THE PURCHASE AND DELIVERY OF REFUSE CARTS

 

REQUEST:    Authorization to continue utilizing a U.S. Communities contract with Rehrig Pacific Company, as a basis for pricing, for the purchase and delivery of refuse carts, in the amount of approximately $100,000 annually.

EXPLANATION:  The Public Works Department purchases wheeled trash containers for residential solid waste needs.  The Village currently uses Rehrig Pacific Company to provide these containers.

 

Miami-Dade County, acting as the lead agency for the U.S. Communities, awarded contract #00254 to Rehrig Pacific Company for the purchase and delivery of refuse carts.  The Miami-Dade contract was renewed through October 31, 2026 and allows for quarterly price adjustments.

 

The Miami-Dade County contract best meets the Villages’ needs at $59.00 per cart. 

 

Staff requests authorization to continue utilizing a U.S. Communities contract #00254, as a basis for pricing, for the purchase and delivery of refuse carts, in the amount of approximately $100,000 annually.
