EXPLANATION: Each Fall, the Florida League of Cities holds its annual video or photo competition which provides “a way for Florida’s youth councils to showcase their ideas, creativity and commitment to their communities.” The question posed to the councils for the 2021 competition was “What is the most critical youth issue your council would like to address in the upcoming year?”
The Village of Wellington Youth Council was one of three chosen as winners of the 2021 Municipal Youth Council Video Competition with their submission, Closing the Literacy Gap. The winning video can be viewed via the Florida League of Cities website at www.flcities.com/youthcouncils <http://www.flcities.com/youthcouncils>.
