EXPLANATION: Wellington's Code of Ordinances currently spans Chapters 1 to Chapter 72, with several chapters reserved to allow for amendments over time. As part of its continued efforts to simplify and update its Code of Ordinances, Wellington seeks to revise the Code of Ordinances to contain 24 consecutively numbered chapters. The revisions proposed in Ordinance No. 2022-24 repeal two chapters containing regulations that have been codified elsewhere in Wellington's Codes. Specifically, the regulations contained in Chapter 10, titled "Amusements and Entertainments" were revised and made part of Wellington's Land Development Regulations (LDR) on January 13, 2020, when Wellington adopted Ordinance No. 2020-01 repealing and replacing the LDR in its entirety. The regulations contained in Chapter 34, titled "Manufactured Homes and Trailers" have similarly been revised and incorporated into Chapter 18, titled "Buildings and Building Regulations," which will be amended and renumbered as Chapter 5 in the new Code of Ordinances. The proposed revisions also eliminate the reserved chapters in their entirety to allow for the consecutive numbering of the new Code of Ordinances that will be presented for final adoption by Council next month.
