EXPLANATION: Annually the Village Council recognizes those Public Safety personnel that have been nominated as Wellington’s Top Cop and Top Firefighter.
For 2022, nominations from PBSO included Agent Nick Holberton and Deputy Harold Harper. Nominations from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Battalion 2 included Captain Shane Armstrong, Captain Matt Willhite, and Lieutenant Jason Haythorn.
These nominations were presented to the Public Safety Committee for consideration at the June 22nd regular meeting, at which time the Committee made their recommendations. The Committee recommended Deputy Harold Harper as Wellington’s Top Cop for 2022 and Captain Shane Armstrong as Wellington’s Top Firefighter for 2022. Captain Rolando Silva and District Chief Philip Olavarria are in attendance to present this year’s awards.
