…body

EXPLANATION:                     The Water Reclamation Facility uses liquid dispersion polymer to help thicken and remove water from the biosolids, prior to the biosolids drying unit, for final processing. The end product is Class AA biosolids, the highest quality biosolids achievable.

On September 22, 2020, Council awarded ITB #202031 to Sterling Water Technologies, LLC, for the supply and delivery of liquid dispersion polymer. The initial term of the contract is through September 21, 2022 and allows for two (2) additional one (1) year renewals.

Staff requests authorization to exercise the first renewal option through September 21, 2023 at $2.597 per lb., or $.617 more per lb. than the current pricing. The financial impact of the increase is approximately $22,000 annually. In order to ensure the best pricing, staff compared pricing to recently solicited bids and Wellington’s pricing is lower.

Prior year expenditures are $69,418.80.
