REQUEST:                     Authorization to continue utilizing independent contractor agreements with tennis professionals to provide tennis instruction.

EXPLANATION:                     The tennis center currently utilizes independent contractors as tennis professionals to provide tennis instruction.  All independent contractors are certified through the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA). Pursuant to the agreements, each professional shall be entitled to 70-75% of revenue they generate for classes as well as flat rates for practices, matches and racquet re-stringing.

 

The estimated annual revenue generated by the following independent contractor agreements exceed $50,000; therefore, pursuant to Purchasing policies and procedures, Council approval is required.
