ITEM: RESOLUTION R2022-61 (CONGREGATE DINING SITE FACILITY USE AGREEMENT)
A RESOLUTION OF WELLINGTON, FLORIDA’S COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH PALM BEACH COUNTY FOR THE USE OF THE WELLINGTON COMMUNITY CENTER TO HOST A CONGREGATE DINING SITE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
REQUEST: Approval of a Use of Facility Agreement for Government Entities between the Village of Wellington and Palm Beach County for the use of the Wellington Community Center to host a Congregate Meal Site.

EXPLANATION: The purpose of this agreement is to provide ample space for Palm Beach County, within the Wellington Community Center, located at 12150 Forest Hill Boulevard, for use as a congregate meal site and to provide staff at no charge, as outlined in the Agreement, attached herein. Below is a summary of the agreement:
• The Village shall provide space for a congregate meal site at the Wellington Community Center for breakfast and lunch
• The meal site shall be open Monday through Fridays, excluding holidays
• There shall be no cooking of food by the COUNTY or the Village of Wellington at the aforementioned meal site.
• The Village shall be responsible for all client meal reservations, including walk-ins
• The Village shall provide staffing at no charge to manage the meal site
• The County shall provide all food and necessary food service related supplies, through its designated food service vendor.
• The site will offer complimentary meals for seniors and provides support services, such as congregate nutrition services
Congregate meal sites are currently offered by the COUNTY at no charge in the following locations:
• Palm Beach Gardens North County Senior Center
• Village of Royal Palm Beach Recreation Center
• Pahokee Wellness Center
• Lake Worth Mid-County Senior Center
• Riviera Beach Lindsey Davis Community Center
In order to qualify for the Senior Nutrition Program individuals must be 60 years of age or older, disabled and residing with someone 60 years of age or older, or volunteering at one of the meal sites.
The term of the Agreement is for a period of three (3) years and continuing for three (3) years thereafter. Upon mutual agreement of both parties, the Agreement will be automatically renewed for two (2) additional, consecutive terms of one (1) year each with the same terms as the initial term. No renewal term shall extend beyond five (5) years from the effective date.
