A RESOLUTION OF WELLINGTON, FLORIDA’S COUNCIL APPROVING A CONTRACT FOR SENIOR CITIZENS SERVICES BETWEEN WELLINGTON AND THE WELLINGTON SENIORS CLUB, INC.; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 

REQUEST:                     Approval of the Annual Agreement between Wellington and the Wellington Seniors Club, Inc. for FY 2023.

EXPLANATION:                     Wellington has maintained an agreement with the Wellington Seniors Club, Inc. (WSC) for the past eighteen (18) years, providing senior citizen services within Wellington.  WSC’s membership is currently five hundred and fifteen (515) members. In exchange for providing both meeting space and funding assistance, the WSC provides monthly meetings, newsletters, social/recreational programming and special events for Wellington seniors.

 

The Agreement provides for:

 

                     A one-year term from October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023.

                     Payment not to exceed $56,200.00 to the Wellington Seniors Club.

                     Meeting space at the Wellington Community Center and/or such other facility as Wellington is able to provide.

                     Quarterly financial reports upon request.

                     Monthly programs including bridge, duplicate bridge, canasta, mahjongg, computer club and quilting.

 

Pursuant to the Village’s Purchasing Manual, this contract is exempt from competition. However, since expenditures exceed $50,000, Council approval is required.
