EXPLANATION: Pursuant to RFQ# 202113, on May 11, 2021, the Village Council Awarded a continuing Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) contract to Wharton-Smith, Inc.
Staff is seeking authorization to issue a GMP Amendment for the Water Treatment Plant Raw Watermain-Drainage (RWD) Conflict Replacement Project. The existing raw water transmission main is in direct conflict with the existing drainage culvert in the Rambling Drive area just east of the water plant. This conflict causes drainage problems on Rambling drive. This project includes the installation of new 24-inch drainage pipe, two structures, and reconstruction of the canal outfall pipe and bank. The drainage is being relocated to avoid impacts to the existing 24-inch raw water main serving the membrane plants, which cannot be easily taken out of service. Substantial Completion has been established at 156 calendar days from the notice to proceed.
Staff recommends executing a GMP Amendment with Wharton-Smith, Inc. for the Water Treatment Plant Raw Watermain-Drainage (RWD) Conflict Replacement Project in the amount of $226,996.48.
