EXPLANATION: On August 8, 2017, Council awarded an engineering services contract (004- 17/DZ) to multiple vendors. As part of the solicitation, Hillers Electrical Engineering, Inc. was selected as one of the Village's engineering service providers. Staff is seeking authorization to utilize such contract with Hillers Electrical Engineering, Inc. to provide engineering consulting services for the Booster Pump Station No.1 Electrical Building and Outdoor Emergency Diesel Generator Preliminary Design Study.
The Village of Wellington's Water Storage and Booster Pump Station Facility No.1 (Booster Pump Station No.1) has aging electrical distribution, motor control and process control (programmable logic controller - PLC) equipment that is nearing the end of its useful life. The equipment is presently in a space within the pump station building enclosed by wooden walls and the Village desires to construct a separate electrical building on site to house the station power distribution and PLC control systems. The study is to evaluate the feasibility, costs and constructability/construction sequence of new electrical building while maintaining station operations.
Staff recommends awarding a task order to Hillers Electrical Engineering Inc. to provide engineering consulting services for Booster Pump Station No. 1 in the amount of $85, 917.50.
