ITEM:                     AUTHORIZATION TO CONTINUE UTILIZING AN OMNIA PARTNERS/U.S. COMMUNITIES CONTRACT, AS A BASIS FOR PRICING, FOR THE PURCHASE AND DELIVERY OF REFUSE CARTS

 

REQUEST:                     Authorization to continue utilizing an OMNIA Partners/U.S. Communities contract with Rehrig Pacific Company, as a basis for pricing, for the purchase and delivery of refuse carts, in the amount of approximately $250,000 annually.

EXPLANATION:                     The Public Works Department purchases wheeled trash containers for residential solid waste needs.  The Village currently uses Rehrig Pacific Company to provide these containers. The total expenditures for last fiscal year were $261,520.  

 

Miami-Dade County, acting as the lead agency for the OMNIA Partners (formally known as U.S. Communities), awarded contract #00254 to Rehrig Pacific Company for the purchase and delivery of refuse carts.  The Miami-Dade contract was renewed through October 31, 2026 and allows for quarterly price adjustments. The Miami-Dade County contract best meets the Villages’ needs. 

 

Staff requests authorization to continue utilizing an OMNIA Partners/U.S. Communities contract #00254, as a basis for pricing, for the purchase and delivery of refuse carts, in the amount of approximately $250,000 annually.
