ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO (1) AWARD A CONTRACT TO PROVIDE ENGINEERING AND ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES FOR THE WELLINGTON COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS COMPLEX; AND (2) AWARD A CONSTRUCTION MANAGER AT RISK (CMAR) CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE WELLINGTON COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS COMPLEX
REQUEST: Authorization to (1) award a contract to Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. to provide engineering and architectural services for the Wellington Community High School Sports Complex, in the amount of $505,335.00; and (2) award a contract to Kaufman Lynn Construction, Inc., for the construction of the Wellington Community High School Sports Complex, with a work order for construction management services during design, in the amount of $76,639.00. Both contract awards are subject to the School Board of Palm Beach County's approval of an inter-local agreement with the Village, for funding, planning, design, construction and maintenance of the Wellington Community High School Sports Complex.

EXPLANATION: On May 28, 2019, the Village Council approved an inter-local agreement between the Village and the School Board of Palm Beach County for the funding, planning, design, construction and maintenance of the Wellington Community High School Sports Complex.
Pursuant to the approval, staff is seeking authorization to:
1) Award a contract to Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. to provide engineering and architectural services for the Wellington Community High School Sports Complex, in the amount of $505,335. The scope of work includes design, permitting and bid phase services.
Contract award is subject to the School Board of Palm Beach County's approval of an inter-local agreement with the Village, for funding, planning, design, construction and maintenance of the Wellington Community High School Sports Complex.
